Scottsdale, Arizona is often called "the West's most Western town". It has over 300 days of sunshine each year and more than 200,000 residents. The population in the city continues to grow and the area welcomes over seven million visitors on an annual basis. This area of Arizona has plenty for any traveler to enjoy. As you are planning a trip to the area, you will want to think about where you are going to stay. If you enjoy luxury hotels Scottsdale has plenty from which to choose.

There are plenty of beautiful areas of the city to explore and the Indian Wash Greenbelt gives you access to many of the best parks in the area. The greenbelt connects four of the city parks together including Eldorado, Indian School, Vista Del Camino and Chaparral. The greenbelt is 12 miles long and it is a popular place for locals and visitors to walk, jog, ride bikes and even skate. Each park has sports fields, fishing lakes, tennis courts and plenty of other activities.

Since the climate in Arizona is warm all year long, golf is another one of the most popular activities. There are around 50 golf courses in Scottsdale and plenty more in the surrounding areas. Championship courses of all different styles and levels of difficulty reside in the city. Also, the Phoenix Open is played each winter at one of the local courses. This is the first PGA tournament event of the year and golf enthusiasts can get tickets to watch the event take place in person.

The Kerr Cultural Center is located on the Arizona State University Campus. It was first designed as a hall for chamber music and while chamber performances are still held in the venue, there are many other musical concerts and programs presented there all year long. This venue is smaller than some of the other theaters in town and that makes the performances seem more enjoyable and intimate.

Scottsdale is home to the corporate offices of the Fiesta Bowl in the center of town. You can check out the Fiesta Bowl Museum during the week and enjoy the trophies on display. There are many different exhibits about the Fiesta Bowl's history and its underlying organization. The museum is free and a great place for any football fan to explore this particular championship game.

The McCormick Stillman Railroad Park is a unique area with unusual amenities. The park is very special for children because it has a lovely carousel and many train and railroad exhibits. You can even take a ten-minute train ride that carries you through a beautiful arboretum in the back of the park.

If you want to get an overview of the city, a trolley tour of Scottsdale is a good idea. These tours are free and take two hours to complete. Your guide will teach you about the various galleries and districts in the city and you will also learn where the best shops and restaurants are located. If you have any interest in the history of the Scottsdale area, these are the best overview tours in the city.

When the weather is pleasant, the best place to window shop and enjoy the nice day is Old Town Scottsdale. There are plenty of traditional malls in the area, but there is nothing quite like the winding streets of antique shops and galleries. This area of the city is sometimes called Fifth Avenue Shops and there are many one of a kind items within the stores.

This city also has many wonderful special events throughout the year including the Parada del Sol Rodeo. This event draws professional cowboys from all over the nation. The rodeo kicks off many entertaining events in the city including a large parade and carnival. If you have never seen a rodeo in person before, it is an experience you do not want to miss when given the opportunity.

When you stay in a city with this much sunshine and beauty, you will want only the best in terms of accommodations. If you prefer luxury hotels Scottsdale has plenty of options. You can find hotels with outdoor pools, mountain views and on-site golf courses. You can also find luxury hotels Scottsdale has to offer that are good for business professionals who are away from home. The city is large enough and diverse enough that any traveler can find just what they need in terms of accommodations.
